Day 01: Hanoi – Nghia Lo (distance/dirt-road: 210km/30km)

Day0 2: Nghia Lo – Quang Binh (distance/dirt-road: 190km/40km)

Day 03: Quang Binh – Xin Man (distance/dirt-road: 170km/70km).

Day 04: Xin Man – Ha Giang city (distance/dirt-road: 160km/50km).

Day 05: Ha Giang – Dong Van (distance/dirt-road: 170km/20-40-55km).

Day 06: Dong Van – Bao Lac (distance/dirt-road: 100km/45km).

Day 07: Bao Lac – Ba Be Lake (distance/dirt-road: 120km/40km).

Day 08: Ba Be – Hanoi (distance/dirt-road: 230km/0km).

Riding in Detail:

Day 01: Hanoi – Nghia Lo (distance/dirt-road: 210km/30km)

Out of the noisy and busy Hanoi, you will change the atmosphere and scenery by riding along the Red river where you can see the peaceful rural life with many large rice fields and see the famers working on their fields. Follow the road No.32 to reach Thu Cuc to have lunch. The ride today is quite easy when following the zig-zag road along the tea hills to witness the rustic villages of the Black Thai people.

Stay overnight in the small town at the foot of Hoang Lien Son range, named Nghia Lo, where settled mainly by the Black Thai people.

Day 02: Nghia Lo – Quang Binh (distance/dirt-road: 190km/40km)

The 40km of single dirt track along the Ngoi Thia river is very fantastic, through the cinnamon forest with great fragrant then cross the dangerous violent stream by bamboo raft in dry season or wood boat with capstan in rainy season. After nearly 3 hours playing with dirt and mud, you will have lunch with many delicious dishes in a small restaurant. The second day of motorbike tour Vietnam in North East area is kept going on with 120km of zig zag roads to reach the hotel before dark.

Day 03: Quang Binh – Xin Man (distance/dirt-road: 170km/70km)

Prepare carefully your health, your bikes and the spare parts for such a great and unforgettable day. Today, you will have the picnic lunch because we will ride to the very remote place but provide hard but excited track. After 40km of easy road with many sudden sharp bends, we will start to climb up to the highest peak of mountain in Northeast area called Kio Lou Tie, 2.300m above the sea level. The way is not easy at all, but the track together with the scenery today is incredible. In the afternoon, you will ride down to Xin Man town to rest after a very hard day tour. Xin Man is a small town located near by border bell Vietnam-China.

Day 04: Xin Man – Ha Giang city (distance/dirt-road: 160km/50km)

Today, we ride only 150km of which 50km is dirt; therefore, take your time to enjoy the unique flavor of a highland town in the border land which is only apart from China by Tay Con Linh range – the roof of Northeast. Remember to bring the waterproof bags because today we will pass many dangerous springs especially in the rainy season. The ride along the steep mountainsides of Tay Con Linh must be a hightlight of the motorbike tour Vietnam today. After lunch, we will turn to the highway No. 2 to lead to Ha Giang city.

After arriving home-stay which is 5km from Ha Giang city, our guide will come to local Government to apply permit to allow you riding along the border belt next day.

Day 05: Ha Giang – Dong Van (distance/dirt-road: 170km/20-40-55km)

Ha Giang is well endowed with many natural landscapes which are extremely beautiful and unique with many winding passes on the rugged mountains. However, to off-road fans, follow the muddy and slippery road along the border belt is a better choice and you can see many small houses of different hill tribes such as H’mong, Lo Lo, Red Dao…built on the mountain slopes. Water here is very precious because this land rarely has rain, no rain in even a year. So, come here, please stop to drink a cup of cooking water which taken from the small slit running down from the high mountains. We bet that you will have a very special feeling.

Day 06: Dong Van – Bao Lac (distance/dirt-road: 100km/45km)

Dong Van karst plateau has many special places to visit such as Dong Van Ancient Street and Rocky Market, a short tour on foot in Dong Van to learn more about the old architecture style and the hidden beauty of the little township is very interesting.

The ride today is very special, still winding roads running along the rocky peaks but the climate, scenery and people are changed quickly. Enjoy a “thrilling” ride through the most dangerous pass of 20 kilometers length in Vietnam: Ma Pi Leng to Meo Vac market. From this pass, you can see the Nho Que river running under the foot of the pass.  After crossing Nho Que river at noon on the bamboo raft with capstan, riders will do 30km dirt-road near the river bank to get to hotel in Bao Lac before dark.

Day 07: Bao Lac – Ba Be Lake (distance/dirt-road: 120km/40km)

With 35km dirt out of 100km total, today, the distance is quite short in comparison with the other days but it is good for local interaction to learn more about their special features. In addition, you can have more time to relax by boating on Ba Be lake or swim in the cool water of this biggest mountainous lake in North Vietnam. Enjoy the night in village nearby the lake.

Day 08: Ba Be – Hanoi (distance/dirt-road: 230km/0km)

The last day of this Vietnam motorbike tour and also the easy day of the ride come. It is time to say good bye with the stunning windy roads, the fantastic dirt tracks, the remote villages and the friendly local…we will ride back to the busy and crowded Hanoi. Be careful, your steering wheel is still not familiar with the crowded streets. It is time to say goodbye.

Cancellation

No additional cancellation fees apply for this tour. You can cancel the tour up to 12 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 11 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 03 July 2022, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 03 July 2022, a deposit of 30% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 11 days before trip departure.

Travel Insurance

This Motorcycle Tour requires that you have adequate and valid travel insurance covering medical and personal accidents, including repatriation costs and emergency evacuation. We recommend using World Nomads’ travel insurance.
